What is Coaching and how do I help you?

 

  • Coaching is about a partnership. I support you to create a meaningful and engaging personal life vision.
     

  • I use tools and processes to assist you to generate your own solutions and then hold you accountable for following through.

 

  • I assist you to get clear on what you want in your future, why you want it, and how you are going to achieve it.

 

  • You set the agenda, not me. I hold space for you to explore and discover self awareness. It's your time and your life so you get to steer the topic - I help keep you accountable for your wishes and desires and goals.

 

  • I assist you in discovering your hidden strengths and internal resources to achieve personal and professional goals.

 

Coaching is solution focused:

It's about moving my clients towards their desired future outcomes, instead of concentrating on past experiences or reasons for present dissatisfaction.

 

Coaching is systematic:

By understanding the holistic nature of my client and seeing how positive change can fit into their bigger picture.

 

Coaching is client centered:

Trusting my client’s inner resources and skills and respecting their agenda and future outcomes.

 

Coaching is action oriented:

It involves helping a client reach desired change in realistic ways to achieve fundamental shifts in attitude, behavior and habit formation.

How is life coaching different than counseling?

 

Life Coaching is a process that assists individuals in creating a more meaningful and satisfying life, while counseling focuses on overcoming the psychological obstacles that interfere with good mental health.

Counseling looks to the past. Coaching looks to the future.

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) - What is it?

 

  • Neuro is the study of the brain and its neurological processes (our experiences, conscious and unconscious through our 5 senses and central nervous system)

  • Linguistic is the language we use both positive and negative

  • Programming is the behavioural patterns we learn through our experiences

 

These can be altered to guide personal change to achieve optimum states of excellence.

 

NLP as an approach of communication, personal development and psychotherapy was originally formulated by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in California, USA in the 1970’s.

I have certification as an NLP practitioner, my coaching session most often are integrated with this modality.
